In this cosmetology program you will be at school Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and you will need to complete the required 1,500 school hours which can be completed in 45 weeks. We have partnered with pivot point learning fundamentals and will consist of a structured lesson plan that is taught by our licensed instructor. This course is broken down into General, Physical and chemical learning. The fifteen hundred (1,500) clock hours/45 credit hours of instruction required of applicants for a license to practice cosmetology shall be apportioned as follows:
1. General-300 clock hours/9 credit hours Sterilization, sanitation and bacteriology, anatomy and physiology, shop ethics, personality and salesmanship, state law.
2. Chemical-600 clock hours/18 credit hours Permanent waves, hair relaxer, hair coloring, bleaching and toning, sculptured nails, hair structure and chemistry.
3. Physical-600 clock hours/18 credit hours Shampooing and rinses, hair and scalp care, hair shaping, hairdressing and styling, facials, arching, lash and brow tinting, manicures and pedicures.

Orientation The student is given a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations of the school, salon and the Cosmetology State Laws. Sanitation & Sterilization students learn the local city, state and federal laws regarding health and safety in a Salon. The student learns the understanding of the importance of preventing the growth of germs or destroying them entirely, when possible, particularly those responsible for infections and communicable diseases. Bacteria is studied so students can understand its different classifications, causes and phrases. Shampoo & Rinse Students are taught the proper procedures for shampooing and rinsing hair. Scalp & Hair Treatment In this Course students are instructed in the treatment of the scalp and hair problems. Hair Shaping Students learn the proper techniques in the various methods of cutting and shaping hair. Hair Analysis Students learn to identify the different types of hair structure, texture, and how to test hair by using the hair porosity test and the elasticity test. Hair Coloring The student will be taught how to do a consultation with the client, prepare the client, mix color, apply lightener, toner, powder bleach, give a retouch, Foil hair, do touch ups. Permanent Waving Students are taught how to prepare the client, analyze hair and the scalp, shampoo the hair, section hair in basic wrap pattern and directional wrap pattern, apply processing solution, make a test curl, neutralize hair and give spiral waves. Hair Straightening Students are taught the basic procedures in how to straighten hair. Hairstyling Students are given hands on experience in learning the art and techniques of individual hairstyling. Manicuring During this course the student is introduced to services provided by the manicurist which include massage and various manicuring techniques. The student will be taught the basic purpose of a manicure, which is to improve the appearance of the hands and nails. Pedicuring During this course the student is given the knowledge of pedicuring as the care of the feet, toes and toenails. Business Management Students learn the product merchandising and retailing of products and services. They are taught the technical skills necessary for salon business.
